Strongman Legends Shatter World Records at 2024 World’s Strongest Man
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, two-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) titleholder Tom Stoltman led the nine other finalists of the 2024 WSM competition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The day’s third and final event was the Keg Toss for height, a challenge that had previously seen Stoltman push four-time WSM champion Brian Shaw to break the world record multiple times in 2021.
Keg Toss Records Shattered
In this year’s iteration, Stoltman, Mitchell Hooper, and Wesley Derwinsky all surpassed Shaw’s previous world record by a single centimeter, each clearing a height of 7.76 meters (25 feet, 5 inches) with their tosses. Evan Singleton, Matthew Ragg, Aivars Å maukstelis, Austin Andrade, Luke Stoltman, and Tristain Hoath followed, with Pavlo Kordiyaka of Ukraine failing to record a successful toss.
“The level of competition this year is truly incredible. To see these athletes push the boundaries of what’s possible is a testament to their dedication and skill.”

The crossbar was gradually raised, with the remaining athletes facing increasingly daunting heights. Ultimately, Derwinsky, Hooper, and Tom Stoltman each broke the world record, leaving the fans eagerly anticipating the final day’s events.
