The 2024 UK’s Strongest Woman Competition Showcases Rebecca Roberts’ Dominance
On August 25, 2024, the UK’s Strongest Woman contest took place in Warrington, England, featuring eight elite strongwomen competing in five grueling events: Arm-Over-Arm Pull, Max Deadlift, Log Lift, Sandbag Toss, and Duck Walk. At the end of the day, it was defending champion Rebecca Roberts of Wales who stood triumphant, winning every single event and achieving a perfect score of 40 out of 40 points.
The final standings saw Roberts leading the pack, followed by Sam Taylor (27 points) and Gemma Ferguson (24 points) in second and third place, respectively. Sarah Reynolds (21 points), Nadine Guy (20 points), Steffi Murray (18 points), Holly Ford (16.5 points), and Shannon Smith (13.5 points) rounded out the top eight.
In the Arm-Over-Arm Pull, Roberts set the pace with a time of 44.43 seconds, followed by Reynolds (44.59 seconds) and Guy (50.24 seconds). The Max Deadlift event saw Roberts lift an impressive 250 kilograms, with Taylor (240 kg) and Ford (220 kg) finishing behind her.
The Log Lift challenged the athletes to rep 70 kilograms overhead as many times as possible in 75 seconds. Roberts once again dominated, completing 10 reps, while Taylor and Ferguson tied for second with eight reps each.
In the Sandbag Toss, Roberts continued her winning streak, tossing the 12-kilogram bag for 10 reps. Taylor and Reynolds tied for second place with nine reps apiece. The final event, the Duck Walk, saw Roberts complete the course in 56.08 seconds, with Ferguson (74.63 seconds) and Smith (46.12 meters) also putting in strong performances.
