The 2024 Rogue Strongman Invitational kicked off at 11:00 a.m. GMT (6:00 a.m. EST) in Aberdeen, Scotland, with the highly anticipated Deadlift Ladder event. The competition featured 10 elite strongmen, each tasked with establishing their max deadlift within three attempts. Notably, lifting suits were not allowed.
Defending champion Mitchell Hooper was the pre-event favorite, and he delivered, securing second place in the opening event with a staggering 975-pound deadlift. However, it was Hafthor Björnsson who stole the show, becoming the only athlete to exceed 1,000 pounds and claiming victory with a remarkable 1,010-pound lift.
