Breakout Star Inez Carrasquillo Shines at Rogue Strongwoman Invitational
Carrasquillo Dominates Inver Challenge, Thompson Maintains Overall Lead
On the first day of the 2024 Rogue Strongwoman Invitational in Aberdeen, Scotland, Inez Carrasquillo emerged as the breakout star, winning the Grip and Rip event. However, two-time World’s Strongest Woman Andrea Thompson maintained the overall lead, securing back-to-back runner-up finishes, including a personal best deadlift, heading into the challenging Inver Challenge.
To close out the day’s competition, athletes were tasked with lifting five stones weighing 200, 225, 250, 275, and 300 pounds without the use of tacky. Carrasquillo, in the best shape of her career, delivered a stunning performance, crossing the finish line 17 seconds faster than runner-up Angelica Jardine.
“I’ve been working so hard for this moment, and I’m just thrilled to see it all come together,” said Carrasquillo. “The Inver Challenge was brutal, but I was determined to give it my all.”
