Myrtle Beach to Host the 2024 World’s Strongest Man Competition
May 1-5, 2024 – Myrtle Beach, SC
Strongman enthusiasts eagerly await the crowning of the world’s strongest man, as athletes descend upon Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the highly anticipated 2024 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) competition. Although the event will not be livestreamed, fans can look forward to comprehensive coverage across various media outlets.
CBS and the CBS Sports Network will air footage from the contest throughout the summer, with event coverage starting on May 28 and running through July 27. These episodes will also be available on Paramount+ (Live). UK viewers, however, will have to wait until December when the competition is set to broadcast on Channel 5.
For real-time updates during the competition, sports news platform BarBend will provide continuous event coverage, while the official social media accounts of the athletes and The World’s Strongest Man will also offer behind-the-scenes insights.
As the competition approaches, the roster remains fluid, with several top names withdrawing in the lead-up to the event. Powerhouses like two-time WSM runner-up Mateusz Kieliszkowski, 2019 WSM Martins Licis, and 2020 WSM Oleksii Novikov have all opted out of the contest.
The current lineup includes defending champion Mitchell Hooper, fan favorite Rob Kearney (who recently announced his retirement after the 2024 WSM), and a host of other strongman competitors vying for the coveted title.
The events for both the Qualifying Events and Finals have been revealed, spanning a wide range of strength-testing challenges, from Webster Stones and Deadlift Ladder to the Atlas Stones finale.
“With Myrtle Beach set to host the 2024 World’s Strongest Man, the stage is set for an epic showdown as the world’s top strongmen battle it out to determine the strongest on the planet.”
