The 2024 England’s Strongest Man Competition Crowns Kane Francis as the National Champion
York, England – The 2024 England’s Strongest Man competition took place on June 22nd, featuring a lineup of 13 elite athletes vying for the prestigious national title. The event consisted of five meticulously designed challenges that put the competitors’ strength, endurance, and skill to the ultimate test.
In a thrilling display of power and determination, Kane Francis emerged victorious, claiming the 2024 England’s Strongest Man title. Francis won two events and accumulated a total of 52 points, narrowly edging out Andrew Flynn, who finished second with 50.5 points. Paddy Haynes rounded out the podium in third place with 47.5 points.
The competition began with a grueling Loading Race, where athletes had to swiftly carry and load four heavy implements, including a 110-kg anvil, a 120-kg keg, a 150-kg sandbag, and a 120-kg tire. Luke Richardson made a triumphant return after a lengthy injury layoff, finishing the race in 36.87 seconds, just ahead of the impressive Kane Francis.
The second event, the Dumbbell Press, saw a three-way tie for first place as Andrew Flynn, William Relf, and Joe Oliver all completed seven repetitions with the 90-kg dumbbell. In the Deadlift for Reps challenge, Kane Francis and Paddy Haynes emerged victorious, each locking out six reps.
The Wrecking Ball Hold tested the athletes’ grip strength and endurance, and it was Paddy Haynes who shone, holding the 242-kg wrecking ball for an impressive 101.12 seconds. Luke Richardson and the evergreen Mark Felix rounded out the top three in this event.
The competition concluded with the Castle Stones, where the competitors had to load a series of stones ranging from 100 kg to 180 kg onto their respective platforms. Kane Francis demonstrated his mastery, finishing the event in a blistering 18.54 seconds to secure the overall victory.
With this win, Kane Francis has cemented his status as one of the rising stars in the strongman world. Having started competing at the elite level just two years ago, he has now claimed three major titles, including the 2024 SCL Serbia and the 2024 England’s Strongest Man.
