Strongman Supremacy: Kane Francis Triumphs at the 2024 SCL Serbia
The 2024 Strongman Champions League (SCL) Serbia contest unfolded on May 25, 2024, in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Twelve athletes from 12 different countries converged to compete in five grueling events, showcasing their unparalleled strength and determination.
In a display of pure power, Kane Francis of the UK emerged victorious, scoring an impressive 42 out of a possible 60 points. Fatih Karaca of Turkey claimed the silver medal, finishing just two points behind Francis, while Evans Nana Aryee of Ghana secured the bronze.
The events contested in Zrenjanin included the Truck Pull, Farmer’s Carry, Car Deadlift, Front Hold, and Conan’s Wheel. Each strongman pushed the boundaries of human strength, with standout performances from the podium finishers.
In the Truck Pull, a 14,000-kilogram behemoth, Kane Francis set the pace, covering an impressive 4.6 meters. Fatih Karaca followed closely with 3.8 meters, while Ervin Toots of Estonia managed 3.4 meters.
The Farmer’s Carry challenge, where athletes carried a 140-kilogram implement over a 40-meter course, saw Evans Nana Aryee emerge victorious with a time of 20.23 seconds. Kelvin de Ruiter of the Netherlands and Fatih Karaca rounded out the top three.
The Car Deadlift, with a 350-kilogram vehicle, resulted in a three-way tie for first place between Evans Nana Aryee, Andrea Invernizzi of Italy, and Kelvin de Ruiter, each completing 11 reps. Kane Francis and Kelin Mills of South Africa followed closely with 10 reps each.
In the Front Hold, Fatih Karaca demonstrated his superior grip strength, holding the 30-kilogram implement for an impressive 41.12 seconds. Andrea Invernizzi and Colten Sloan of Canada rounded out the top three.
The final event, Conan’s Wheel, tested the strongmen’s ability to move a weight in a Zercher position. Colten Sloan emerged victorious, covering an astonishing 60 meters, followed by Ervin Toots and Kane Francis, who both managed 51 meters.
The 2024 SCL Serbia contest showcased the incredible feats of strength and endurance that define the world of strongman competition. Kane Francis’s overall victory cemented his status as a true force to be reckoned with in the strongman arena.
