Mateusz Kieliszkowski, one of the most accomplished Strongman athletes, has suffered a setback due to a recent Achilles tendon injury. The Polish powerhouse was forced to withdraw from the highly anticipated 2024 Europe’s Strongest Man competition, which was scheduled to take place just ten days after the incident.

To make matters worse, Kieliszkowski has also announced his withdrawal from the 2024 World’s Strongest Man event, set for early May. The athlete was considered a prime contender to challenge the likes of Tom Stoltman and Mitchel Hooper for the prestigious title.

“There’s nothing to complain about all of this because I have chosen this path myself, and I’m aware that injuries and health problems are part of the sport at this level. I’ve been through many issues, surgeries, treatments, and I don’t think that’s why I should stop. I know that it’s only a matter of a few months before I return to full fitness.”

The extent of the injury is still unknown, as Kieliszkowski has yet to undergo further medical evaluation. However, the athlete has expressed optimism, noting that he can walk on his own, despite the presence of pain. Kieliszkowski acknowledged that injuries are a part of the Strongman sport and is determined to make a swift recovery.

Throughout his illustrious career, Kieliszkowski has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. He has participated in 48 international and national competitions, securing 15 victories. His most impressive performance came at the 2018 World’s Strongest Man, where he finished a close second to the legendary Hafthor Bjornsson.

Despite the unfortunate timing of this latest setback, Kieliszkowski remains undeterred. The strongman community eagerly awaits his return to the competition floor, as his absence will undoubtedly leave a void in the upcoming events. His resilience and determination to overcome this challenge will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to his peers and fans alike.
