The 2024 World’s Strongest Man Qualifying Stage Groups Revealed

Published on April 30th, a day before the start of the highly anticipated 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition in Myrtle Beach, the event’s qualifying stage groups have been unveiled. Legendary strongmen Eddie Hall and Terry Hollands were the ones to officially reveal the groups and share their insights on each one.

Qualifying Stage Format

Similar to previous years, the 2024 World’s Strongest Man qualifiers will feature five groups of six athletes each. All groups will face the same set of five events, with the winner of each group directly advancing to the finals. However, the second and third-place finishers in each group will compete in a special “Stone Off” event, where they’ll take turns lifting a massive Atlas Stone over a beam until one can no longer complete the lift, with the winner also qualifying for the finals.

The Qualifying Groups

The groups for the 2024 World’s Strongest Man qualifying stage are as follows:

  • Group One: Kevin Faires, Tristain Hoath, Trey Mitchell, Luke Stoltman, Eddie Williams, Oskar Ziolkowski
  • Group Two: Austin Andrade, Gavin Bilton, Nicolas Cambi, Ondra Fojtu, Mitchell Hooper, Spenser Remick

Predictions and Expectations

While there is no clear “Group of Death” this year, the groups appear to be extremely well-balanced, making it challenging to predict who will advance from each one. Strongman fans are in for an exciting and unpredictable qualifying stage as a result.

“Consistent performers like Mitchell Hooper and Tom Stoltman are expected to secure their spots in the finals with relative ease. However, as the sport of strongman has shown in the past, anything can happen, and surprises are always a possibility.” – Eddie Hall

The 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition will take place from May 1st to May 5th, with the qualifying/group stage events scheduled for the first two days and the finals spread across the last two days. Fans can look forward to a thrilling display of strength, determination, and competition as the world’s top strongmen battle it out for the coveted title.
