Strongwoman Victoria Long Announces Retirement Following Injury at 2024 Arnold Strongwoman Classic

In a heartfelt announcement, renowned strongwoman Victoria Long has decided to retire from the sport after a distinguished career spanning five years. The news comes just days after her final professional appearance at the 2024 Arnold Strongwoman Classic, where an unfortunate injury cut her campaign short.

During the opening event, the Max Elephant Bar Deadlift, Long suffered a severe hamstring injury, requiring assistance to leave the competition stage. Though this was not the ending she had envisioned, the strongwoman champion reflected on her remarkable achievements and the camaraderie shared with her fellow athletes.

“To say that I’m proud of the women that I shared the stage with this past weekend is a severe understatement,” Long wrote in her retirement announcement on Instagram. “These women embody what it means to be WARRIORS. We’ve shared many of the same struggles, we’ve sacrificed, and we’ve been continually subject to some of the harshest comments and opinions. In spite of it all…we STILL SHOW UP!”

During her five-year career, Long competed in five international and two national strongwoman competitions, securing five gold medal victories. Her dominance in the sport has been instrumental in elevating the profile of women’s strength athletics, inspiring future generations of strongwomen.

“I’ve had some amazing experiences and made some life-long friends along the way. I’ve been a part of something that only a small percentage of people will experience,” Long shared. “Ladies, from the bottom of my heart…THANK YOU!! Continue to push the limits and take this sport to the next level!”

While Victoria Long‘s professional strongwoman journey has come to a close, her legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats will undoubtedly endure. As she shifts her focus to family and career, the strongwoman community will remember her remarkable achievements and the indelible mark she has left on the sport.
